Buy Royal Sketching & Drawing Studio Artist Set Now
This is a nice package that is good for a budding amateur like me. I like the variety of a drawing selections but if your going to get serious then the built in easel is not going to be much help. I use a drafting board instead of the easel as I can then put the drawing box next to it for convince. For the price it is a good deal.Read Best Reviews of Royal Sketching & Drawing Studio Artist Set Here
granddaughter just loved all of the items in this set. She spend hours sketching and coloring. I hardily recommend this product. It brings out the artist within. My daughter in law appreciated the gift, it was received in plenty of time for giving and coupled with a sketch pad she will enjoy using it.Guerilla Field Tripod with Stone Bag to weight down the Tripod during use.

I don't particularly like painting outdoors, as Delaware usually enjoys a brisk breeze off the bay and if it's cold or humid, my paint doesn't dry well (I use watercolor.) Not to mention, I have to spend valuable painting time traveling to some location. What I usually do is photograph my subject and come back to my little studio. I use the tripod system in my studio to paint standing up--my preferred way to paint, and I love the way I can orient the tripod to suit what I am doing. I can move it around the studio to capture the best light. Someday, if I decide to take a workshop in some beautiful locale, or go on a vacation, I'm going to drag this along to make sure I can paint comfortably.
The Guerilla system has a lot of accessories for your particular medium; oil painters can choose a wooden pochade (cigar box) that holds paints, a telescoping easel, a box that has paint storage as well as wet canvas storage (necessary for plein air). There are watercolor boards--frames that stretches either a full, half or quarter sheet of watercolor paper and attach to the tripod, palette holders, palettes for watercolor, umbrella and brush box. You can pick the components you need whether you are a watercolorist, pastel artist or oil painter.
I use the tripod plus the watercolor board (half sheet, thinking of adding the quarter sheet frame.) If I ever decide to go out on one of my rare days off, I'll strongly consider an umbrella and palette holder.
This is a great system in or out of the studio and would be a must for the plein-air oil painter for sure. The tripod is extremely well made and well worth it when you set up the accessories that you need.

I purchased this easel for my 6 year old son. I adjusted it to the highest height (he's 4'2") and it is just a little taller than him so it's the perfect height with some room to grow. The quality is good for the price. You get what you pay for. The chalkboard is not the best quality but if you use Expo dry erase solution/erasers for both the dry erase/chalkboard you should have no problems. I did like that the height would adjust within 6" so that it does grow with your child. My son loves it and uses it daily. It's not fancy but it gets the job done. My only complaint is that the paper roll holder is a little smaller than standard roll papers but we will make do. Other than that I think it's great for my son.Read Best Reviews of Martin Kids Classic Dual Center Art Center Here
Product arrived with broken tray, due no doubt to elaborate but ineffectual packaging. Called Martin for replacement and was promised one within three days. Assembled OK without tray, but poor design makes it impossible to thread paper through bracket that holds paper down on easel. Paper roll is 15" wide, bracket 14.5". Recommend people find another product from many of this type available.American Easel Gloss Birch 16 Inch by 24 Inch Palette

Anyway, another thing that worries me about the box is that the panel is held deep inside the lid, so that there is a shadow on the top of the panel, which could be a problem under certain lighting conditions, or maybe under any light condition you're not going to want a shadow at the top of your panel. Sorry about the bad review.house, so I can paint when I go to visit. I already have a 9x12 Guerrilla Box here at home. I think the Cigar Box is definitely value for the money compared to other pochade boxes especially when you consider all of the accessories that are available to customize it. I'm going to use it for sketching with pastels using two of the pastel trays they make for it. It looks like the manufacturer has added some reinforcement to the frame that holds the paintings so far no problems. Every thing looks good and sturdy, but not fancy.

My newest hobby is painting.Painting with the canvas flat on the table just wasn't getting it. I opted for the cheap easel. This easel is just fine for me.It is super light, folds down to the size of a big umbrella, and is easy to adjust. The down side is that its light weight. A real painter would want something heavier. I paint setting down and close so I just "hook" the front legs with my feet to keep it from moving. But for a noob like me its a great value.I can also see it being good for painting outside "on location". The only thing that bugs me is the bottom part of the canvas holder. It is adjustable by means of holes that two screws(one on each leg) slip into. Its hard for me to get level and is easy to knock out of place. So what's my virdict? Good buy but if you are serious about painting spend the extra $100.Read Best Reviews of Art Advantage Aluminum Field Easel With Case Here
I love the flexibility of these easels. I purchased two of them to hold backdrops for videos and they have so many ways to adjust the height from the multi-stage extending legs to the adjustable brackets that can slide up and down the leg. They are light and easy to travel with. Very pleased!I live in a very small home. So I've had to squeeze my easel in where I can so the dogs don't run into it! This being said the adjustable legs have SAVED my life.It is cheap, fits many sizes of canvases and is light enough to carry out in the field. I have bought this easel 2x's now because I can't find one in the same price range that is any better.
