Martin Universal Rolling Rivera French Sketch Box Easel

The Easel is ok. Nothing special I see here for the extra 50 bucks. it is lightweight. But that also means it is not as rigid as you would think.

I bought it for my wife. She is still painting on the table. If you never put it on the wheels you can use it on a table top

I guess thats a bonus.

With the wheels on you can still use it on the table. Just hang the wheels over the edge.

I purchased the Martin Rivera rolling wooden easel and sent it back. The quality is very poor and very rough wood (no sanding or finish). However the main problem is that the wood was split in many places on the top of the easel case where screws were screwed into the wood. One split was 4 inches long. Also the design is somewhat different than the picture on Amazon which was the same picture on the carton. The pictures show four metal connectors at the four corners on the bottom of the easel. these might have reduced the wood splitting but were not part of the easel. Also the four screw holes pre-drilled to receive the wheel unit were located on an angle and also too high to use if one assembled the unit and would require additional holes drilled. I returned the defective easel and purchased elsewhere for $40 less and was very similar design French sketch box but it is well finished (sanded and oiled) and no split wood.
