Guerrilla Painter Backpacker 6 by 8 Covered Palette Tray
My Guerilla 6 x 8 came yesterday. The actual inside usable space is 4.5 x 6.5 inches, but still perfect for a take-along palette.Pro: Glossy plastic -looks like it will be easy to clean. Small -easy to take with you. Very tight cover that will keep paints moist. Very lightweight -can hold with two fingers. Inexpensive.
Con: It is nearly impossible to open. You need to use a palette knife or some thin object to pry between the cover and base in order to open it. Perhaps this will get easier with use. On the other hand, the very tight closure is probably what keeps the paints nice and moist.
Overall, it looks like a fine addition to my painting arsenal.

I got this because I wanted to start painting and didn't feel like spending a lot of money on fancy tools I didn't know how to use. It comes with a 10 page canvas which was surprisingly AMAZING to paint on. The brushes however, are not that great and are difficult to use because of how hard some of them are. One thing to keep in mind though if you're going to purchase this: make sure you get special oil to clean your brushes with. Water won't do and the paint will remain on your brushes. Overall good product especially for the price.

I'm being asked to rate this as a toy; not sure why. So as a toy I rated it 5 stars. Now for the real review: I thought the oil paint colors included would be the basic ones since they are not listed in the description. Upon receipt I found the three NOT included were white, black, and blue, three I absolutely require. So be aware of what you are receiving before ordering. The six colors included are: Cadmium Yellow Pale Hue, Cadmium Red Deep Hue, French Ultramarine (purple), Viridian Hue (light green), Yellow Ochre, and Burnt Umbre (brown). I've since ordered paints that included the primary colors everyone uses. The rest of the set is as expected--plastic palette, 3 canvas boards, wood easel, etc, as pictured. Good (almost) basic set for the price.
Guerrilla Painter Backpacker 6 by 8 Watercolor Palette
I just loved this smaller, compact, yet big enough to carry alot of paints palette! The plastic is very, very sturdy, not flimsy, not thin like the others. This is a quality palette. I bought it to put those paints I just know I really want with me but don't want to fill up the large wells on my Pike Palette (another excellent choice). This fits inside the mixing area on my Pike Palette and I can travel with it this way, only taking up the same amount of space as my original palette. Certainly, thinking of getting another one because its so sturdy and easy to use, loved the size. I don't have a Guerilla Plein Air product, only this. I actually have the setup from "Plein Air Pro", which comes with a nice messenger bag that carries my tripod, easel and palette. So, my space was limited on taking another palette with me. I was hoping this would work and it's height is perfect, quality is 100% and I know any artist would love this. I use it for all of my earth colors, Bt. Sienna, etc and some of those wild colors like Quinacridone Coral that I wouldn't give an entire well to on my main palette, but so love to use.

I bought this especially to use with the Guerrilla thumbox. Its not bad it just doesn't fit all that well considering its an accessory for the thumbox. I put the small palette in my new Guerrilla painter backpacker box. It fits great. I have not put any paint in it yet, but just got it for my Christmas gift. I took the box on location in Old Sacramento last weekend. It was windy and the box wiggled on top of the camera tripod a little. I used some other small palette that I have and did 3 paintings within 2 hours. I did 12" x 16" Arches 140 lb CP block paper for the H Street Golden Bridge and Joe's Crab Shack. Then, I turned to the North and did the Delta King Paddle Wheeler Ship and the railroad bridge and Sacramento River on 11" x 15" Canson 140 lb. CP paper. Then, I did another painting on Yupo paper about 10" by 14". The first painting I did seating and kept the palette inside the box. On the second and third painting, I painted standing. The wind was cold and the overcast made it more difficult to see any shadows. People would say that it looks like fun. An old Chinese fellow, I think, wanted to paint, but his wife wanted to move on to go shopping.I will put some tube paints in this palette soon and take on various locations. I am a member of the Sacramento Plein Air group and a few others. I should get a lot of use out of this palette. Sometimes, I use several palettes at the same time, because I want a wider variety of colors to chose from.

American Easel Oak Yazhi Easel-Golden Finish
I purchased this easel for a high school student to use over the summer to build her portfolio. I was looking for something heavey enough that she could use it out doors without fear of it blowing over in a breeze. (keep in mind that the size of canvas will impact wind resistance/blow over). I couldn't believe the quality when we got this last week. I paid well under the list price here on Amazon and as the daughter of a shop teacher, I am used to "grading" wood work LOL! This easel is oak, it's well finished and the fittings are lovely. It assembled in a few minutes and while it's not made to be portable, it will be pretty easy to move about.We buy a lot of our art supplies from Blick, but they couldn't touch this price and quality. I'm extreamly happy and I recomend this to artists of all levels.
This is a lightweight wooden easel. You also cannot adjust the legs of the back easel at all. has a little chain that only goes one length so the angle of the painting is NOT adjustable at all. That sucks! It would be a MUCH better design if it had a slide to adjust the angle!!!!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE for all you reviewers who read these before you order! Only 11 pounds is cheap-y but for the price and free shipping (I live in Hawaii!) it's ok for small-medium sized canvas. It's a bit too lightweight and not sturdy enough for larger canvas. 36x36 would be MAX to have it hold. It held my 49' long by 29 high but it wobbled a bit and I had to keep tightening the bottom screws. Too much hung off the bottom piece. It shipped FAST. Arrived undamaged. I sold it in 2 days for =what I paid for it, so no loss. Shipping it back would have been $. Aloha.

This was backordered for a time, but when it arrived I was pleased. It is a significant step above the very lightweight tripod easels out there, but it isn't as heavy (or bulky) as the real hardcore easels for painters of large stretched canvas. We have now used it for photographing our art collection, and now will convert it to hold a rotating piece in our living room. The top bracket gives a nice sense of security versus simply balancing a frame on the easel. For the (significantly discounted from list) price we paid, this was an excellent deal.Save 40% Off

The description led me to believe that there would be 200 of the turn buttons with screws. What I got was a package of 100 turn buttons and 100 screws. I guess that adds up to 200 but seems like false advertising to me.The buttons and screws I got worked fine, but not happy with the marketing.
Update to my review:
I emailed Amazon and they quickly responded back. Apparently I should have received 200 turn buttons with screws.

I needed these turn buttons for my handmade picture frames. They were easy to install and worked perfectly. These seem better for small frames because of their small size, so I will probably start purchasing something bigger for my large frames. Great value for so many items. I found a couple tiny easels similar to this at WalMart but I wanted a bunch of them to make Christmas ornaments for family gifts. I found plenty in stock and was able to order five packages, total of 10 easels. These are actually nicer than the ones I found, the easels are painted nicely (doesn't look cheap or crummy) and the canvas is slightly bigger exactly 3x3". I bought this for my 9 year old as a Christmas gift, she loves art and would be so happy with her own easel and art supplies. I got it today and was so happy opened it up and it was not well made at all. One of the latches that hold the easel close was bent into the box so it would latch properly. Another one was compltely broken off. The drawer was unable to open or close unles you used great force. I didn't see this lasting very long. Although the idea of the set is great, easel is very bad quality, rough wood, and one of the locks broke off right away. I am yet to try the paints.I would not recommend this product.
