This hobby and craft table arrived in good shape and on time! It was protected very well in the process and was easy to put together. This was a gift, but the recipient couldn't have been happier with the product! He said it was perfect for his projects and it is very sturdy and well-made!
I bought this to hold my watercolor board upright as I sketch and paint, so I'm not constantly hunched over the art. The feet of the easel have rubber tips to keep it steady. The easel's legs are floppy; that is, they don't stay apart once you set it down so you have to struggle a little bit with getting it set up. That said, once it's on the table, it's ready to go and the bars to hold the painting in place are plenty thick to hold a thick watercolor board.
We ordered these for our office and call centers and they work great. I like that they are portable and sturdy. These are much better than the 3-point pole style easels.
As a painter I've experimented with a variety of different mediums to paint on. I've tried painting boards,different types of cardstock and even to the point of gessoing slabs of regular cardboard in order to create the ideal painting medium. So far these particular canvases are a cut above anything I've ever tried. Usually when I baught canvases I've stuck with the stretched 8 x 10 type because with a canvas panel because to display them you have the extra added issues of matting and/or framing costs but because these were on discount and I honestly really enjoy working with canvas this looked like an excellent deal not only in terms of price at the local AC Moore (they had a sale) but also because of the advertised features. As promised these canvases are pre gessoed with three layers (triple primed they call it) and the smooth,even surface is ideal for artists such as myself who like to sketch out the outline of their work on the canvas before they paint on it.

I bought these to use for a church girls project and they were perfect for the job. We used sharpies instead of paint but that worked just as well. The back has a place you can put your name and date on it, and its think enough where you could even probably fit in in a frame as well. This canvas pack worked very well for the price payed. I used them more for practice than actual pieces. That I could get used to the "feel" again since I took almost 17 years off from painting.

I bought this to use at home and outdoors. It is sturdier than it looks in the pictures, so I added one of my own. I would definitely recommend this. However, I do not paint on VERY large canvases, but I think it would be fine. Easy to assemble and adjust. Great product. I just read the other reviews and am very surprised. This easel IS very sturdy and the parts work very well. The Turino Easel is lightweight and very durable! I am a traveling artist and pack up this easel every week. It is easy to set up and take down taking only seconds. And light weight too! Weighs less than my purse! lol!! It's also a perfect size accommodate those masterpieces or smaller paintings and drawings. I also use it in the studio. It's tripod stance is sturdy and firm to handle any medium you are working in. It also has a vertical span that can accommodate big canvases too.
Porcelain art requires sharp edges and crisp lines. Traditionally the artists have used expensive natural bristle brushes. After using these brushes I am pleases with the results with economically priced brushes.. I paint on porcelain.
I had to call their help desk to get this thing assembled, because the instructions neglect to mention that the picture is backward. (The bucket is on the right side, and you can put the paper towel holder on either side.) Adding to the confusion, the center mast is installed backward for shipping. You have to unscrew the knob behind it, pull it out and turn it around so that the bottom ledge for your canvas is in front.

I have had mine for close to three years. Within a short time of using it I noticed that the smaller canvas's rocked into the void places and were impossible to paint on. I bought a piece of plywood to place on the easel and use with the smaller canvas's. OK that problem solved. Next problem, the angle of the easel won't stay in place. It is three knobs to adjust, a lot of work, then it jus drops back down as you paint. it will tilt so much that the canvas will fall on the floor so you have to be very careful. I have to hold with one hand and paint with the other. Not the best solution. I contacted the manufacturer and they said they were still working out the kinks. OK that does not help me at all. I would not buy from American Easel ever again. My husband bought me this as a gift and it was too much money for me to buy another.
