i would recommend this to intermediate artists like myself. i love how it turns into a case i just got it today. it doesnt give you instructions on how to put some pieces together but i figured it out by myself. im 15 and i love this product the company that make this is the company i will be buying from for my art supplies. the only con i dislike is when you carry it the top supplies falls out of the container and, the pastel is very messy and im afraid it will get all over the box if i carry it. the pros i like is that it comes with 2 sketchbooks one for charchol and graphite and one for pastel and pencils. If you purchased the supplies separately you would pay over 100. getting a easel that turns into a case and has all of the supplies for 60 dollars is a really good deal. But i would not recommend this too little kids they can easily swallow the pastel and charchol sticks.
Very nice set for the beginning artist. It's difficult to find an artist set for sketching. Most are mostly paint. I'm 10 years old and I love the easel built in to the carrying case. You can take it anywhere and set up quickly. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it as a great starter set.

If you just reverse the top lid, so that the draws open under the easel (easy to do) this becomes a great painting box with palette storage in the draw. I have been using this box for years.

Looked at other reviews that said wood box fell apart and items where broken, but said look at all the good ones. Look at how much this thing is actually going for on the original website ($120). It must be worth the money and on rare occasions things happen.
Well let me tell you!!!
1. Front piece of wood that has bottom part of the latch fell of immediately. Looks like it was never glued or nailed down in the first place. That didn't bother so much because I own crazy glue. Problem fixed in seconds.
2. ALL SIX charcoal pencils in bottom drawer are broken into AT LEAST three pieces. No I did not do this. They were like this the first time I opened the drawer.
3. What is this wood box made of??? Cheap cheap wood is used. I feel like the whole thing will fall apart soon.
So happy I didn't pay the $120 and got it for $65 on here with free shipping. Still upset I wasted that money on such a cheap item.

I am so glad I bought this quality set...it is really nice. I haven't drawn anything since college art class and suddenly decided to start up again. This set is everything I wanted and more, and such a bargain for all that is included. The case is well made and everything organized wonderfully within. The plastic inserts can always be removed to make more room for more supplies later, but I like how everything stays in place with them in. The easel is really great...a feature I didn't think I would ever use, but you need to have your drawing elevated to get the right perspective, and so I have used it every time. I no longer have a drawing board or drafting table, so I just set the easel on a table to draw. And then I take the drawer of pencils I plan to use for the drawing out, and place it next to me for convenience. This is a great set and I am very pleased with the quality and variety of the contents.

First shipment was missing the hardware (screws and little metal stop), so I returned the first item, noting the issue, and received a second one with the same darn problem. What is up with this, Amazon? Don't you read the issues that you ask people to note? The instructions that come with it say that screws are included, I have yet to have them included. Going to the hardware store to hunt down the metal stop and screws is something I didn't expect to do and is a PITA. I gave this two stars in regards to customer service. I'm sure the palette is fine once I'm able to install it.
