American Easel Oak Premier Paint Station-Golden Finish
I had to call their help desk to get this thing assembled, because the instructions neglect to mention that the picture is backward. (The bucket is on the right side, and you can put the paper towel holder on either side.) Adding to the confusion, the center mast is installed backward for shipping. You have to unscrew the knob behind it, pull it out and turn it around so that the bottom ledge for your canvas is in front.Once we got that all sorted out, I found that the holes to attach the top half to the bottom do not line up, and the "long" screws are too short. I had to widen the holes with a drill, making it a bit less sturdy, but at least now the top is attached.
That said, the shelves are excellent for storage. The easel is not bad for me at 5'3, but would probably be even better for a taller person. The base is very sturdy and supports a fair amount of weight. It looks beautiful, and I can see it lasting for several good years.

I have had mine for close to three years. Within a short time of using it I noticed that the smaller canvas's rocked into the void places and were impossible to paint on. I bought a piece of plywood to place on the easel and use with the smaller canvas's. OK that problem solved. Next problem, the angle of the easel won't stay in place. It is three knobs to adjust, a lot of work, then it jus drops back down as you paint. it will tilt so much that the canvas will fall on the floor so you have to be very careful. I have to hold with one hand and paint with the other. Not the best solution. I contacted the manufacturer and they said they were still working out the kinks. OK that does not help me at all. I would not buy from American Easel ever again. My husband bought me this as a gift and it was too much money for me to buy another. The table top arrived damaged, so I did an exchange. That wasn't really a big deal.Assembly did not take long. The directions are a little unclear, but it wasn't hard to figure out.
HOWEVER:
The first canvas I tried to put on it is 40 inches tall. The description claims it can hold a 48 inch tall canvas. Not even close. It definitely is a few inches less than 40.

This easel is easy to set up even without instructions (which are included), it was missing only one small wing nut/bolt connector. It is very adjustable and handsome; I really like this little easel and think it a great value for the cost.I will use it in my study, however, I could certainly use it outside. I only hope my art is as good looking!

I do NOT recommend this product! It had flaws from the beginning. Although I received it in a timely fashion, and needed it for an extended art trip, it never held together the way it was supposed to! The size and weight are alright, but the three legs where supposed to 'click in' or hold in place, I had to hold the thing together with bungee cords! The legs flopped, the wood cracked, screws and hardware came off. It was a royal pain to put up and take down, and try to close it up with the legs flopping all over. You get what you pay for, a more expensive one may have been better. I was about to throw the thing over a cliff, but I bought a much more expensive, lighter weight aluminum easel, that I will have for the rest of my life. I may just give my poor, old French sketch box to Good Will, someone may have the skill to fix it. I recommend not wasting your money on this model!This is the first easel purchased for my teenage artist. It is very light, yet sturdy. It is set up in a crowded room at the moment, and no fear of tipping over when it is bumped. The only issue is that it does not come with directions on how to convert it from the portable box position to the standing position. I had to call in my engineer husband to figure out how to get it standing, and we have not moved it from this position yet. It will probably take some practice to learn to easily convert it, but directions would be a nice addition. Our creative son surprisingly asked for an easel for his birthday. It is adjustable for height so that he can sit or stand and even grow into it. The drawer is great for storage. This easel also compacts into a case for easy transporting. I highly recommend this affordable quality product.
6 Black Velvet Necklace Easel Jewelry Displays 12.5"
These easels are very attractive and are priced right. It is exactly as described. However, I had to reinforce the back. They would be OK in store with a permanent display. I go to trade shows so have to move my displays. After a few moves, the backing started to tear from the front. This was easily fixed with tape, glue and clamps. I do recommend these easels, but treat them gently.

Loew-Cornell Wood Floor Easel, Stained
Beautiful easel, very easy to put together. It's near impossible to find something this nice (especially stained) in craft stores. It's easy to fold and I found that it's compact for the small area I use it in. Not recommended if you want to use it simply as a display piece. But for painting, I love it.

The chain on this easel is so short that the front of the easel is almost vertical, threatening to drop the art off the front and onto the floor. I had to lengthen the chain with a zip tie. The other problem is that the legs are so flimsy---even when the wingnuts joining the leg sections are tightened as tight as can be, the legs still bend at those joints. We bought this easel to hold a sign/photo board for our wedding. Assembly wasn't difficult, but it wasn't easy and overall the piece feels flimsy. It wouldn't stand on our hardwoods, even with the grips on the feet. It did serve it's purpose and was much cheaper than investing in a sturdy, hardy easel we'll never use again. All in all, great for one time use or light easel work.
