The chain on this easel is so short that the front of the easel is almost vertical, threatening to drop the art off the front and onto the floor. I had to lengthen the chain with a zip tie. The other problem is that the legs are so flimsy---even when the wingnuts joining the leg sections are tightened as tight as can be, the legs still bend at those joints. I wouldn't put more than a few pounds of not-very-special display items on this easel. We bought this easel to hold a sign/photo board for our wedding. Assembly wasn't difficult, but it wasn't easy and overall the piece feels flimsy. It wouldn't stand on our hardwoods, even with the grips on the feet. It did serve it's purpose and was much cheaper than investing in a sturdy, hardy easel we'll never use again. All in all, great for one time use or light easel work.
