I am a professional artist and I work in oils. I have used a variety of detail brushes of a wide range of quality and material. When it comes down to it, they all lose their shape over time no matter how careful you are with them the better brushes just last longer and have much finer points.
This set gives me 8 usable brushes for the cost of one really good brush and with a lot of care they have held up remarkably well. I find that for oil painting, all but the two longer bristled brushes are stiff enough to hold paint but flexible enough to be manipulated with control. The short handles are nice for me because I initially bought them for a compact, portable painting setup. The bristle tips haven't "chunked out" the way that cheap stiff bristle brushes do, creating an undesirable saw edge, and after 6 months of steady use have not lost any bristles (of course, I am careful not to wash them in warm/hot water, too).
As far as oil painting goes (and assuming the quality I received is the same with every set ordered) these are pretty decent brushes for your average painter or for beginners, and perfectly fine for professionals who don't need ultra-fine line work but still need to get into detailed areas and not worry about going through as many expensive detail brushes in the process.
I use these brushes for modeling. They are of decent quality for the price and do the trick for me. I havent had these brushes lose hair while painting but they have lost their shape quite a bit after approximately 20 uses. But like I said, for the price they are about what I expected. I'm going to be springing for some higher quality replacements soon.

not what i was hoping for, brush hair are a bit stiff, doesnt feel as quality as i would like. wouldnt buy again. however not bad if you dont have the money for a nicer set.

These are very good budget brush set. When I got them, there were two brushes that looked bad but I decided not to return them because these were minor problems. I only used three brushes and they worked fine. I have no complaints about they brushes. There good for the average person who wants to have some fun painting detailed things. Highly reccomended.

I haven't used these yet, but the package they came in was open, all the protective caps were off, and 4 of them were loose in the box with frayed hairs sticking every which way. This isn't the company's fault, so I'll edit my review after I see how they perform. But at the moment, not too happy. This happens often with Amazon lately. They seal the outside of the main box, but they throw damaged or open items in it, so by the time you get your package and open it, it's a mess in there.
I'm an artist for a living, mostly making tiny detailed things, so getting frayed hairs to start with is a real bummer.
(Who ever is selling these should file a complaint with amazon, or tape the top of your brush "container" shut, so it doesn't open up so easy inside the box).

I got this board for my son who loves to play with magnetic letters and magformers and also loves to draw (white board and on paper). I looked at many more "fun looking" toddler easels, but while they were more colorful and had more 'pizzaz,' they were also limiting in terms of age and size -this one seemed it would grow with us. It's nice and big. Stands sturdy, has a tray on front a back for holding pens, markers, etc. I do plan to stain it a darker color the wood is nice and sanded, but with a toddler using it, it will look pretty bad really fast. I don't see that as a design flaw, just a choice.
