American Easel Oak Maestro Easel-Golden Finish
Easel is make of great oak and is pretty sturdy. On arrivel, there was no dammage to the box, but... Inside the box, the bottom tray was assembled and cracked. I called the company several times, but always got a voicemail. I left my phone number, but nobody never called me back. As another buyer mentioned: it was not to difficult to repair with some wood glue, but you still see where the cracks are. Manual was in the box. I would give it a 5 for the easel itself (nice piece) but only a 3 for packaging and a 1 for service.I wanted to return the easel (it was a present for my wife) but she was so impatiant to work with it, that I just saved myself the work of returning and put that energy in repair. I wanted to email to this company, but nowhere found an email address...
Advise to the company that sells these easels: don't assamble the lower tray! It is so easy to put together (8 screws) and it saves a lot of problems.
By the way: my wife loves this easel a lot!!!
I liked that this easel was not only over half off the list price, but that it also qualified for free two day shipping with my Amazon Prime membership. I ordered it and it arrived quickly and in excellent condition. It wasn't too heavy, but it is in a very large box, so I needed help getting it upstairs to my apartment.
I was able to assemble the easel quickly, using only a screw driver. I did have a hard time tightening the screws in all the way, but I got them in most of the way. Anyone who has weak, girly hands like I do may want to use an electric screwdriver to get them in all the way.
Assembled, the easel is great: adjustable, sturdy, has a neat shelf for supplies and a removable metal cup insert, and it isn't too difficult to move around. I am VERY happy with my purchase.

This easel is of excellent quality especially considering the price! It is super sturdy and durable, nice solid oak wood; heritage quality even. I didn't encounter any damage from shipping as others have mentioned and it did include a brief set of instructions. Set up was quick, 20-30 minutes tops. The pre-drilled holes for the hinges were slightly off on one side but it doesn't affect the overall use or quality; they were also a little difficult to screw in by hand but were by no means unmanageable, a hand drill would make it super quick. It is a little bulkier than I thought it would be but seems about average for a studio easelThe tray is very convenient, that's really why I selected this particular model. Also, there IS a stainless steel cup included and it is located on the right hand side of the tray unlike the photos. This appeared to be just what we'd hoped for until we found that the wood was cracked and breaking off in one place. If it weren't intended as a gift for someone else, we'd have simply glued it and kept it because the damage would not interfere with function. Returned because no one should pay full price for a damaged product. It appears the packaging was not sufficient to protect the product in shipping. Also, it did not arrive with packing slip, or assembly instructions. Gave it three stars because though it is on the heavy side and is not something you'd want to plan on moving frequently, it does seem pretty sturdy and if it could arrive it probably isn't too awful bad. This was easy to put together and it works great in the classroom. It is a great height for both myself and students to use. The wheels lock and unlock easily. It moves with ease. The hooks for chart paper have fallen off a few times because of the weight of the paper, but a little extra glue (super glue) did the trick. It is harder to use with pocket charts because of the limited places to hang from.

This easel is pretty decent given the price. To get much better, you'd have to pay massively more money. Speaking of paying massively more, I saw one in Office Depot that wasn't quite as good, and they were charging 5 x what this one cost. So, I think it is a pretty good deal.The easel is plenty tall enough, and plenty sturdy enough for holding foam or cardboard backed posters like for trade shows, which is what we use it for. It would also hold heavier wood framed canvases, but you wouldn't want to put some 6' x 6' ornate wood framed painting on it. It's nice and light so it's easy to carry and transport. Trivial to set up,too, which is nice considering that mostly marketing people have to deal with it. I'm kidding!
Anyway, it does the job well, it's a very good deal, it's light and simple to set up. Perfect.

I just received the plate stand and it is not symmetric--one side is longer, so it does not stay up straight.It looked as I was expecting, and was a good price, but the quality is not there. I could not count on this rickety plate stand to hold anything of value as I am sure it will tip complete over once there is weight on it.
I hope I can get a refund but I am not pleased with the quality of this product.

I bought this easel for my granddaughter although after seeing the actual product, I would buy one for myself. You can't beat this in terms of price and quality. To begin, this floor easel comes in a surprisingly compact box. (Easy to fold up and carry.) The first thing you notice on opening the box is the delicious smell of polished wood. Set up is easy. It will hold a medium to large canvas tightly. The storage drawer has plenty of room for supplies and the included pallet. My granddaughter was thrilled to receive to receive the Pro Art French Box Easel. The product is inexpensive compared to others on the market but it is well made. While you may find a few brushes in here you can use in this set, I have bought these TWICE now and suffered problems with the ferrules coming off and them shedding all over the place two things I cannot handle. I go cheap on brushes more often than not but these are just... meh. I originally bought these brushes to do face painting. I had a party of 20-30 kids to do face painting on. The hairs kept coming out I tried using the diffrent bristles but I had the same problem . I ended up giving the brushes to my 3and 6yr old kids for their art. I do not recommend these brushes if your looking to paint with expensive materials or paint

The strength of this product is that I can flip the board when I have a client coming to my studio (I'm a photographer). I can also roll it around in my studio, depending on where I want to sit each day.
Now negatives. There are several.
The board itself is plastic film on particle board. I don't know how durable it is in a heavily booked meeting room. The board had several deep scratches and small dents already when I opened the package. Upon single writing-erasing cycle, the scratch already turned into a dark line. The board is not magnetic.
The metal frame is of reasonable quality, but some parts were poorly machined and assembled. One of the screw didn't tighten because of the wrong hole size. Frame is painted but somehow one column had rust on it, which I couldn't wipe away. The other column had dents on it. The flip chart hooks and their counterpart holes on the board had wrong sizes I had to force them in very hard.
The caster wheels included in this product are pieces of junk. These are the worst casters I ever saw. You can pull or push the frame and they don't even point the right direction to roll. So you will have heavy friction and some noise from the floor. These casters don't have bearings or nylon parts. These are plastic junk. These casters have screw stems attached so you can buy better casters from third parties anyway.
After all, the concept and the design of the product are pretty good, but you don't have to look closely to tell the parts are made from cheap materials and without good craftsmanship. When it comes to rust, scratches, dents and other quality issues, this product it terrible. The build/strength is only slightly better than Ikea standard. At this price, I did not intend to buy a "disposable" item but I feel a bit like that's what I got. That's why I don't give it 5-stars.

Overall, pretty much what I expected for the price, and a perfect starter easel for someone who is just learning how to work with paints outdoors and isn't planning on using it a ton!

Guerrilla Painter 5 by 7 Pocket Box
Fantastic size. It is perfect for my watercolor setup. The size limits how much I take out with me, which is helpful. There is just enough space to fit 4 travel brushes, 2 fountain pens, a pencil, and 2 Pitt pens, a 6" ruler, a folding water reservoir, 2 small tins of watercolors, and a small Moleskine watercolor journal. I do wish the lid was complete without the open slot on the front. My larger Gorrilla boxes do not have this feature, so I was surprised and at first very disappointed upon seeing it. The opening is made to hold wet canvases, which I don't use as a watercolorist. However, it has not proved to be a problem thus far. The leather closure strap holds the journal in place. All small items must be kept in the storage space below. I covered the thumb hole with heavy paper, sized to fit the box, so nothing can fall out. Overall, it is the best box I have found to fit my particular needs and wants. It fits perfectly in my Timbuktu messenger bag.
If you are interested in painting on 5x7" canvas boards, this model is perfect. You can fit 3 of them in the box, and two of them can even be wet when you close it up! I usually paint on card stock instead, and just slip a few blanks in between my canvas boards. Under the sliding palette I fit: a couple pencils & sharpener, 12 small tubes of acrylic, a few small brushes, a small painting knife, and a small cloth.
I haven't tried using the thumb hole or the tripod screws on the bottom. I mainly use this box to paint in a cafe or fast food restaurant, and just set it down on the table. The whole thing is small enough that I don't feel outrageously conspicuous in such situations.
The only complaint I have about the physical product itself is that the lid can't be tightened firmly enough to hold it open at fixed angle. This surprised me, since the lid is intended to act as an easel and has a somewhat involved mechanism hold it open. Most of them time, I end up not using the back as an easel and just put my canvas or card stock flat on the table.

This little box is great for travel. I have several pochade boxes, but none of them are self-contained like this one. Usually I have to carry a separate tote for paints and brushes, always feeling like I'm toting a ton of gear. For this box, I bought some water miscible oil paints so I don't have to carry solvents, some short-handled brushes, and a small mighty-mite brush washer. They all fit easily inside the box. It holds two 5x7 inch canvas panels. Although it can be fastened to a tripod, I'd prefer less equipment and instead sit it on my lap or on a table. I got this as a gift and I have really enjoyed using it. I like to travel light and while I have a small pochade box by Artwork Essentials (which is wonderful), this one can carry wet canvases and paint, brushes, pencil and small turp right under the lid. I use it on my lap and put a heavy piece of paper on the bottom of the box to keep things from falling out as there is a hole for a tripod mount which would defeat my purpose of small and fully portable in a bag. I added the extension palette which easily screws onto the right side of the box. I like having an extension palette as I can keep my brushes on that (there are holes to fit the handles in) and I when I clean my palette I put the extra paint there for a mix of good greys. I can also clip a medium cup to the extension which can not be done on the main part of the palette. I highly recommend getting this, however with the extension palette I can only keep one wet painting in the lid as the palette takes up the extra space that a second painting might take. The whole thing is very lightweight. The painting panel sits in landscape mode, but if I want to paint vertically I use clips to hold the painting in place and that seems to work fine. I looked at these for my classroom, thinking they would be easier for kids. Their claims of washability were also important to me.I don't know how washable they are, because I won't use them again. The caps are far too tight for kids to use. I could handle that, except that the darn things don't wipe off our dry erase board! I will have to scrub them off. I use a microfiber cloth to clean off the dry erase board, and it did not even TOUCH the writing and drawing we had done. It should NOT be this difficult to wipe off dry erase markers.

There is a reason the only pictures depicted do not show a side shot the profile of the display is 1.5 to 2 inches DEEP. For my purposes in a china cabinet they just took up tooooooooo much space.If you want to ensure a plate stands up at the back forget it.

These display stands were WAY to bulky to fit into a small China Cabinet. With a standard size china plate, the plate barely fit in height and (with the angle and depth of actual stand) there is no way that any additional items could be placed in front (so you can't even hide the plastic stand). Return process was also not pleasant. Only paid $18.00 for items with $8.00 shipping. Company wanted to charge 20% restocking fee for standswhich I do not believe was disclosed upon purchase and you have to pay return shipping. Decided the refund of $10.00 was not worth the effort. Make sure you have a deep cabinet and have no expectation of return.

This easel, though nicely made, does not have wheels. Of course, that was the main reason for the order.
