Liquitex Basics 48- Ultra Acrylic and Easel Set

THis is such a GREAT PRODUCT for a Christmas Present!!! I purchased it for my mother because she wants to get into painting once again and she loves the present!!! We haven't did any paintings yet, but we will after Christmas:) I didn't purchase it for myself because I already have all of the paints, brushes, and easel that I purchased separately... It MAY SOUND EXPENSIVE INITIALLY, but anyone who paints know that ANYTHING purchased for painting CAN BE EXPENSIVE!!! This is actually a pretty good deal for everything that you get!!! I have painted for many years using oils & acrylics (now I just use acrylics), but I have always used Grumbachers & Liquitex for my projects:) I REALLY PREFER Liquitex because at least the tubes that I purchased were easier to open and the paints were equally vibrant:) Anyhow, I think that this is a GREAT & REASONABLY PRICED PRODUCT OVERALL!!!

The 2600 has to be manually operated. When I first set it up, I swear it would automatically place the time in column 1 and the next box over or when the clock goes past noon, it would place the pm out date right nex to the in time. I contacted customer support and ther person helping me had me reset the unit. After that evry time the an employee wants to clock in and out it all has to be done manually. If you pay a little more money and get the next model up, you will be happier I think. By the way, I called back to customer service tech help several times and anyone helping me after the first person didn't seem to know anything about the 2600.

Art Advantage Right Hand Mannequin

In my opinion, all hand mannequins with the typical two joint thumb are largely useless. With out the joint where the thumb meets the wrist, you end up with an ornamental decoration rather than a useful art tool. If you just want something artsy to put on a shelf to class up your pad or studio, this works great. It is made of nice clear grained wood and acceptable varnish finish. The base has a felt disc so it won't scratch anything.

All of the of the "Art Advantage" hand mannequins I've seen on Amazon fit the "two joint thumb" description.

To illustrate the limitation, make a fist with your own hand...thumb on the outside like you're going to punch something....see that, the two jointer's can't do that. Now, make a fist with your thumb tucked inside your fingers. That it will do. Now, note how the base of your thumb is pinned against your hand. That is the fixed position of these mannequins.

The joints where the fingers meet the palm cannot be rotated despite appearing to be ball joints. Attempting to rotate them will result in the sound of wood starting to crack. So you cannot spread the fingers into any natural hand positions other than that of the retail photo used for the listing. They just "sprout" straight out of the palm and a are fixed.

It may be possible to peel away the felt to access the mechanism to loosen the spring that holds the fingers to facilitate spreading the fingers, but I haven't messed with it since the thumb is beyond help.

Bought this locally at the art store. The photo as shown in this product listing looks like the one in the store. I was able to return it.

It works fine for basic poses. However, the fingers/thumb has a limited range in motion. If you wanted to make a tight fist, you can't do it with this mannequin. If you wanted to do sign language handshapes as models to draw upon, this mannequin falls short.

My advice, go to your local art store and try out a couple of poses you want to model.

Probably should be less than 3 stars because the pinky finger broke off after moving it 3 or 4 times. But seeing as how I'm gluing all the fingers in certain spots anyways 3 stars is appropriate in my case.

Art Advantage Dog Mannequin

I purchased this Art Advantage Dog Mannequin for my grandaughter who is a

budding artist. She loved it and stated she didn't even know they made

these. I had gotten her a people mannequin a couple of years ago. This one

seemed a better quality and all the positions you can bend it into, once again

she was thrilled.

I think this is a good idea but it's not functional as is. Since that is not how dogs are jointed, it can't really be used by serious artists and is more for children. If the mannequin isn't properly designed, it cannot be used for which it was intended, and thus, makes it rather useless.

Melissa & Doug 10 Jumbo Triangular Chalk Sticks

The other reviewers have it right: This is flimsy, easy-to-break chalk. Almost like its purpose IS to break, it breaks so easily. We purchased this for our daughters' chalkboard, and it shattered when they tried to use it, and of course, when it hit the floor, busted in to several tiny pieces.

Trust us -really bad stuff. Now the stuff we love (but only comes in a few colors) is Crayola's sidewalk chalk. They are HUGE sticks, write great and are pretty industrutible.

This is some durable chalk! I have a very active 2 1/2 year old son, and he can destroy almost anything. We've been using this chalk for months now and none of it is broken yet. He loves using the chalk, and he has learned the colors of each one. It writes very well on the Step 2 chalkboard that we have. I don't have any bad things to say about the chalk, it's great for little ones!

These are just regular size chalks in triangular shapes, I am not too impressed. The red and black chalks actually left permanent stains on our Step2 blackboard. I would not buy this product again.

I gave these to my nieces and nephews for Christmas and by the time the day was over, we had Christmas art all over the driveway best part, it washes away with a waterhose or the rain, but we left it there to enjoy it. They were so proud of themselves. Great item.

They need to remove "jumbo" from the label. I was surprised at how thin these are.

This is indoor chalk for writing on black boards. If you use it outdoors (and the package says you can) prepare for every piece to be broken.

It's nice that they don't roll.

Art Alternatives Canvas Panel - PACK OF 12

I recently deployed to Iraq, and figured I would learn how to paint, I bought these canvases, to start on. It was a really good deal, I think. They are hard backed and thin for easy storage. Being the first ones I have ever used I have to say I am pretty impressed witht he product. They got delivered pretty quickly too, which was a plus.

As a beginning student, these were great. I especially liked the fact that they were ready to go, all you had to do was put it on the easel. My only suggestion was find a size that's right for you. After the first paining I did these feel a bit too small.

These canvas panels were as I expected. They work well for painting practice with both oil and acurlic paints. They would work well for childrens crafts, too. They are a bit rough to the touch but can be sanded down for a smoother canvas. I would and will buy them again.

Speedball Deluxe Screen Printing Kit Deluxe Kit

Great starter kit for anybody interested in learning how to screen print. The included DVD goes through the techniques and shows you exactly how its done. Very informative.

Speedball products are obviously quality products and i would reccomend this kit to any beginner.

We were immediately halted in our printmaking process by the fact that the base unit's wooden top bar (which the hinges get screwed on to) isn't even, one end is shorter than the other, so when attached with the hinge the screen won't lay flat against the base board.

The kit was a great price, but not so great a price if we count out the base unit, which was really the main motivator to buy the kit instead of individual supplies. Ah well, bad luck for us.

I saw some of the reviews saying containers came open on this product in shipping.

Well, that's because Speedball skimps on packaging so much that it's almost guaranteed to.

2 of the 5 containers of inks are coating everything inside of the box. The bottles of liquids to treat the screen have coated the screen, making it useless. The tissue papers & instruction book are stuck together with liquids.

The tissue papers have MILDEWED, telling me that this happened early on after assembly.

This is an unacceptable way to package a product & the product should be removed from Amazon until this is improved.

Since this is supposed to be a "Get started today!" kit & that's sure not happening, definitely pass this kit up. You will be covered in ink & cranky the second you take the lid off.

When I opened the package some of the containers inside did not stay in their position. No big deal, but the photo emulsion remover bottle leaked. If there was no additional damage I would have kept it. What I believe was the tracing paper inside was half turned yellowish as well as the screen to make the "negative". Shipping was free through Prime thankfully. So I will return and probably try to purchase another since other good reviews.

NATURAL WOOD TABLE EASEL-20" HIGH

One of the bolts that came with the easel was completely stripped out when it arrived. I was disappointed because I wanted to set it up and use it right away. I spent a few hours trying to find a replacement bolt at home improvement stores, but the size was odd and I could not find one. There was no phone number on the instruction sheet to call for replacement parts. My husband finally figured out a way to put it together that works, but is not pretty. It is a no frills easel and will do the job. Depending on the size of the canvas it does make a bulge if its wood frame does not rest on the easel. If the ledge can't be adjusted to make it fit, some kind of backing would need to be used.

A couple days later I found a very similar easel a few dollars cheaper at a chain craft store. Plus I had a coupon, so it was less than half the cost of this one and all the parts were okay. I am looking to buy 2 dozen of these easels for a classroom setting. I'll be buying the rest from the chain store one at a time as I get coupons.

Unfortunately, after 3 months of limited use, this easel did not hold up. They are very inexpensive for a reason.
