Art Alternatives Paint Tray Palette, 10 Wells with Thumb Hole
Note that I have given this smallish plastic palette five stars. I really have mixed emotions about this. Let me explain.First, this is indeed a very functional palette. I use is strictly for water colors but it could well be used for acrylics or any other water based paint. With the ten wells you have plenty of places to mix. The palette is extremely easy to wash and there is no stain carry-over that you so often find in this sort of product. It is light which makes it easy on the hand and is not overly burdensome when you pack it with your other gear. I like the fact as it is white as it allows me to see my colors better.
On the other hand, this palette is most certainly made for smaller hands. While my hands are not overly large, they are never-the -less not what you would call petite either. This, for me, is a bit of a problem. I use it of course, but to be frank it is a pretty tight fit. Of course I usually work setting down and normally have the thing placed on a table or work bench close by which is not a problem when used like this. These would be ideal for those with small hands and of course children.
There is also the cost consideration. When I first saw these on this site they were over six dollars apiece. Wow! If you did not have Amazon Prime or some such cost savings program, this was a bit steep. I see now that they are selling for $3.75. This is better. I paid $3.00 apiece for them at a local art supply store plus tax...it sort of all equaled out. If you have Amazon Prime or get a supersaver deal, then the price here is not all that bad. If you must pay shipping (I have no idea what that is) then you probably should check around a bit.
Functionally this is a nice item. Cost effectiveness here is a bit problematic. A few years ago I would not have been overly concerned with a couple of dollars here and there but to be honest, times are hard and ever dollar you save counts; at least it does for me. I suppose it all depend upon the availability of these in your neck of the woods and what your local dealer is asking.
My five star rating is more for the functionality of this item than anything else. I cannot be critical because of the size of my hands. (Hey, I held it before I bought it so I knew what I was getting. They potential buyer though on-line needs to be aware of this.

This is a very nice little and very inexpensive palette. I bought ten of these at a local art shop and paid about on dollar more per palette than here.I give private art lessons, for the most part to children and young adults. These are an ideal size and I use them for my water color classes and acrylic. This smaller size is ideal for smaller hands. I have small hands myself so it works out great for me to.
These are extremely easy to clean. I make the kids clean up their own mess after we work and they have a much easier time cleaning these than the plates. Bowls and such I used before.
This was a good investment. I highly recommend this product.

If you want a nice, little palette for watercolor sketches or a quick, three-tone painting or something similar, this should do the trick. Other than that, you're going to need a much bigger palette. I usually use a palette with 20 wells and a large mixing space in the middle. I thought I might be able to use this one for smaller projects, but I guess I just use too much paint for this little guy.If you want a palette that fulfills all your painting needs, don't go for this one.

The jars are too small to accommodate the Crayola toddler paint brushes that would go with this set. I am not very happy that Crayola will not disclose its ingredients other than saying it does not use Red #40 dye. I bought this for my 2 year old who loves to draw on her easel. I wanted to get a variety of colors, and test out the paint before buying the large containers available. The paint is great...washes right off. I have no fear that it would stain something. HOWEVER, this is not a value. Good quality, it was my 3 yr old's favorite gift of the day. Two things to take note of: they are small! I didn't notice the size -I'm not sure how long they will last. Also, I wish there was a different type of dispenser at the top. For the price, this is an excellent table easel for general use. It's versatile, sturdy, portable and includes both a storage compartment and a wooden palette. The design allows for adjustable canvas tilt as well as adjustable height since the lower support bar extends below the tabletop for a more convenient painting height while seated. It supports canvases up to 28" high, which is great for most amateur and student artists. However, it cannot adjust to support canvases smaller than 12" high, which may present a problem for artists who prefer smaller canvases. Overall, this is a great easel and I would definitely recommend it to others.The only other problems that I found with it, which are minor issues, were that one of the brass knobs had fallen off inside the box and the upper canvas support bar was attached slightly crooked. These easels are very attractive and are priced right. It is exactly as described. However, I had to reinforce the back. They would be OK in store with a permanent display. I go to trade shows so have to move my displays. After a few moves, the backing started to tear from the front. This was easily fixed with tape, glue and clamps. I do recommend these easels, but treat them gently.

I use a drafting board instead of the easel as I can then put the drawing box next to it for convince. Loew-Cornell Wood Floor Easel, Stained
Beautiful easel, very easy to put together. It's near impossible to find something this nice (especially stained) in craft stores. It's easy to fold and I found that it's compact for the small area I use it in. Not recommended if you want to use it simply as a display piece. But for painting, I love it.

The chain on this easel is so short that the front of the easel is almost vertical, threatening to drop the art off the front and onto the floor. I had to lengthen the chain with a zip tie. The other problem is that the legs are so flimsy---even when the wingnuts joining the leg sections are tightened as tight as can be, the legs still bend at those joints. We bought this easel to hold a sign/photo board for our wedding. Assembly wasn't difficult, but it wasn't easy and overall the piece feels flimsy. It wouldn't stand on our hardwoods, even with the grips on the feet. It did serve it's purpose and was much cheaper than investing in a sturdy, hardy easel we'll never use again. All in all, great for one time use or light easel work.

Step2 All Around Easel for Two, Pink/Purple/Tan
My 4 year old loves this 2 sided easel. She has used it every day since Christmas. She loves spelling with the magnetic letters
The main reason I am giving this a 4 star instead of a 5 is because the easel is so lightweight it is easily slid across the floor while being played with. My daughter would being coloring (probably a little too aggressively) and the easel would slide around a bit. A simple fix would be to install some type of rubber grips on the bottom so it wouldn't move around as easily.
Overall it is a great space saving easel that is very sturdy and easy to assemble. The issue I have with it is minor, but it is an issue nonetheless. I would definitely buy this item again and am so I happy my daughter loves it!
Blick Master Series A-Frame Easel - A-Frame Easel
The hardware packet said it had 18 1.5" connector bolts. It only had 8. The bolts for the uprights were 2" long and needed to be 1.5" so they had to resend the right size. Customer service was very nice and was apologetic and willing to send out the correct screws right away. Now I need 2 more nuts and the long bolt is defective and won't screw into the knob. For $200.00 (the convertible easel), I would think the hardware would be correct. The directions are relatively easy to follow, but could be more specific. This has been extemely frustrating and I would think twice about ordering online again. The wood is really nice and the easel is sturdy. If only I could get it together to actually USE it.
Step2 All Around Easel for Two, Red/Yellow/Tan
I am a big fan of the Step 2 products. They have great durability, and are usually designed well. I had an older version of this easel, and I have to say that I liked it better than this one (unfortunately I sold it in a garage sale a couple of years ago). The older version had two different boards that were at a slight angle, more like a traditional easel, which I think made it a bit easier for the little ones to write/draw on. This new version has just one board with two sides and stands upright. I guess the plus to this is that the base doesn't need to be as wide so it is more small space friendly.Last year I purchased the Melissa and Doug deluxe standing easel for my nephews as a gift, and I have to say that I wish I would have spent the $10 more and purchased that one instead of the Step 2 for one simple reason. It grows with your children. The Melissa and Doug easel is height adjustable so that my 2 yr old nephew and five year old nephew can both use it, and you can attach a roll of paper that you just pull over the top and they are ready to create. You can attach paper to the clip on the Step 2, but the biggest downside to the Step 2 over the Melissa and Doug is that it is not height adjustable so it's better for just toddlers up to maybe age 4 (depending on how tall your kids are).
Basically there's nothing really wrong with the Step 2 and they make great products, but for my money I wish I would have purchased something that would have been useful longer by buying the Melissa & Doug Deluxe Standing Easel that would have grown with us, instead of being something that we will only use for a shorter period of time. I didn't really think about that until I had it home and had put it together :(
Update: I got the thing to go together by praying the pieces that lock together with a little cooking spray. Whether or not this really helped I can't say, but the thing is together.

Step2 makes great products and this easel is no exception. It has 2 sides, a magnetic whiteboard and a chalkboard. The work area is decent but overall, not terribly big. This easel is a great size for anyone 3 and under. My daughter is 2 and really enjoys it. The product comes with quite a few foam pieces, mostly letters and other random shapes. It doesn't come with any other art products but that is usually the case. There are 2 little plastic baskets on either side of the easel for convenient storage of markers, crayons, etc. There is also a clip on the whiteboard side for kids to pin up their work and keep it in place.The easel assembles quickly and easily, within minutes and feels nice and sturdy. The colors make it a perfect unisex toy and a great buy overall because of the educational value. Even if your child is not into art, they will still probably enjoy the magnets and playing with chalk-what kid doesn't?

The same product was for Fisher Price but for 20 more bucks. Up to know I can say that Step 2 got all the same stuff than the Fisher Price.They seem a lot the same, and got robust structures.
My only complain was that I had to cut the letters myselfs...but it was just a matter of minutes.

This easel seemed to have the most value for the buck. It is double sided and contains multiple sheet of magnetic letters/numbers. there are multiple sets of letters in different colors so your kids will have fun with colors too for younger ones. Easy to assemble, just make sure you have a hammer and a cloth handy. The only gripe is that it's not easy to store. The top easel portion comes off with ease, but the grey and yellow bucket does not come apart without tools.
