French Artist Easel - Wooden Portable Folding Tripod Type - Storage Shelf - NEW

Cheap wood and missing screws. Not completely finished surfaces. Poor quality, as I had to reassemble to make certain wing nuts would keep easel up. Legs don't stay up on own. Defiantly a better idea to spend a few more dollars and get one that's solid. Contacted seller with no resolution.

I purchased this easel for a class and I am glad I did since it weighs about half of what most of the easels my classmates purchased and have to lug around. Unfortunately, as soon as it arrived some of the parts were loose and the drawer had come unglued from the bottom. I was able to doctor it back together with some creativity, and it works perfectly fine nowjust be aware that it's made fairly cheaply. The little drawer doesn't have much room to hold more than a couple of paint tubes, and there's no storage for wet canvasses, so plan accordingly. Also, there isn't a ton of room for balancing paints, water, palette and brushes in the same placeI have to get creative and rig up my water and brushes in a way that they hang off the sides.

Overall, pretty much what I expected for the price, and a perfect starter easel for someone who is just learning how to work with paints outdoors and isn't planning on using it a ton!

It works well for my daughter. It's a bit flimsy for what I was expecting. One of the braces were bent when I opened the box as well.

Backpack for Full French Box Easels

I bought this for the Jack Richeson Academy Weston Full French Easel. While it does fit, it's a very tight squeeze to zip it all in properly at the top the legs of the easel just seem a tad long for this particular bag. Some of the sewing/zipper/seam construction internally appears cheap. That said, it will be serviceable, the pockets will be handy. I primary bought it to take it through security at the airport or it I take the train to a nearby park to draw, I think it will come in handy.

I've owned three of these canvas backpacks. One's zipper broke and I couldn't fix it. The other two are working just fine and I've had them for years. For me, they are the only backpacks that are the right size for both full french easels and large Versa plein air easels (as well as other necessary equipment). It's not especially sturdy or well madebut it's the size that works and if you're just carrying it relatively short distances from car into the field it works just fine.

Guerrilla Painter Medium French Resistance Pochade

I have just started to paint in plein-air and I wanted to have a box that would hold the materials I use, plus have some sort of support for the canvas/paper. But I didn't want to cart with me an easel, mostly because all the outdoor easels I've seen looked kind of flimsy or not sturdy enough.

This pochade box has a nice finish and it looks quite well constructed. it is solid with a beautiful finish and hardware. It has enough room inside to store and carry tubes of watercolor or acrylic paint, plus a separate compartment for brushes. It is very easy to set it up atop a tripod with the tripod-mount plate it has on its bottom, and it is quite sturdy, staying planted firmly on the ground while I paint.

In their advertising, the people who make these pochade boxes tell you that you can actually use the bottom of the box as a palette and pour and mix acrylic or oil paint in it. I'm a neat-freak and I don't think I will ever do that, preferring to use my own separate palette.

All in all, I am very happy with this pochade box and I recommend it wholeheartedly to any artist who enjoys painting in the great outdoors.
