The Budda Board is endlessly entertaining. I gave three of these for gifts to artists, two of whom are in their 80s and they are loving them. I wish I had ordered one for myself. I tried it in a store display and another before gifting and it is a wonderful, unusual, yet simple thing. You paint with water on the board and it stays there for awhile then slowly vanishes. It is perfect for those practicing brush-stroke painting or caligraphy. I recommend this for anyone needing diversion in a calm, non-technical way. If you order one, get a spare to donate to a nearby long-term care center, children's hospital or waiting room.

I bought this as a gift for a coworker and it has been a huge hit around the office. When it first came I was disappointed because it is just such a simple thing. All you do is take some water, paint the board and then watch it disappear as it dries.

Little did I know that the Buddha Board would soon be a major addiction. Whenever the workplace becomes a little too stressful I just whip out the paintbrush and paint away.

What I love the most is the way it dries. You can watch as your picture morphs and changes through the subtraction of lines and shapes. It just feels so good to create a bit of art that will not last. There is no need for perfection. You just paint what you feel.

The Budda Board is a great tool for relaxation, especially after a busy day.When using it I become so engrossed in it.It makes everything slip away from my mind.I find peace, harmony and joy.I am renewed with energy and calmness at the same time. I would recommend this to everyone!This was given to me by my husband for no special reason other than he may have thought I needed to have something to use as a method of relaxation other than a book or a crossword puzzle.

My only complaint is it took a long time for delivery.Far longer than we had anticipated. FedEx did keep us apprised of when we could expect it, but we were both anxious to receive it faster than we did.We did not ask for any special delivery services.

I was introduced to the Buddha Board through friends who own it and thought that it would benefit me. I have to say, it's one of the neatest things I have ever purchased. Any time I have a bad day at work, I whip out the Board and paint out my anxieties (and sometimes exactly what I am feeling) just to watch it disappear before my eyes. It is quite therapeutic. Yes, your work of art disappears but with it goes the stress of having to be perfect in your work. I have heard other reviewers saying that they use their board for calligraphy, and that would be absolutely perfect. I think I may try that.

My only complaint about this specific board is that the brush is low quality and the bristles shed all over the board. However, if you find that you have this problem you can easily purchase a new one at your local craft store (Just make sure the bristles are soft as hard bristles could easily damage this board).

For those who are hesitating purchasing this item, don't. It's worth every penny of the price and I have already bought several for gifts and plan to buy several more for the holidays. It's one gift that is as functional as it is fun.

I bought this for my wife a month or so ago and she loves it to practice her Japanese writing skills. Just use water on the brush and it paints and gradually fades away. You can use any brush on the board, if you want detail or big fat strokes. The only difficulty is figuring out how much water to put on the brush when I've tried it I've ended up with a few dark blobs which didn't dry out for quite a while. That said, they did eventually and the board was ready to use again!

Guerrilla Painter 10-Ounce Brush Washer

Just what I was looking for! This is a great little travel sized brush washer for painting on location. The name "Guerrilla" really fits. It feels tuff as nails... Very solid and well made. I'll probable wind up using it in my studio as well since it takes up very little space. It's about the size of a can of Campbell's soup so don't expect a great big thing. I Highly recommend this product!

While I usually alternate between a couple of larger brush cleaner containers with DIY aluminum coils for regular home use, this little "Guerrilla" is perfect for field trips. I will caution you that the 3 sealing clamps are very tight to release and close. While this is a "good thing" because it is what makes it leakproof; you do have to be careful to hold the container steady so that you don't slosh turps on you when you are opening or closing. Or perhaps I just received one with extra tight clamps?

The handle came off after the second use and it is hard to put back on for it to stay,

The quality is very good, Therefore, I like ti alright, only the handle is a bad one.

Melissa & Doug Easel Paper Roll

I searched several stores in my area and could not find replacement paper for my daughters' easel, so I decided to check out Amazon. I found this product and you could not beat the price, so I ordered two. It was nice thick paper and could handle the fancy artwork that my two and four year old Picassos created. I plan to order more.

I use this for my daughter's easel by Melissa & Doug, which itself does not come with paper but has a dowel for one. It's a great price for quality and amount of paper you get, but you should get 2 or 3 rolls to save on shipping costs, which are around $7 whether you get 1 roll or multiple rolls.

I really like the Melissa and Doug Easel, and this paper works perfectly and lasts a long time. My only reason for giving it four stars is that I wish it were a little more durable. Each time I rip off a sheet after my son has painted, it tears a little not a lot, mind you, but enough that it doesn't rip perfectly. I think this has something to do with the wetness of the paint causing the paper to buckle a little, putting stress on different places on the paper, causing it to not rip straight (unless you rip VERY slowly perhaps I'm too impatient!). Otherwise, great stuff my son loves it.

This item was a gift at Christmas. The picture depicted twin rolls and that was what I expected only received one roll. With the shipping charges doubling the cost, I am not sure this was a good purchase, but it is needed with the easel I alo purchased. Maybe a visit to a local store to purchase the paper would have been a better option.

Well first of all the rolls were larger then I thought which is a good thing since the cost was higher than I'd like to pay. My daughter loves drawing and though the rolls were wider then her eisel she just rips off a piece and clips it too her board and enjoys making large masterpieces.

American Easel Oak Professional Easel-Golden Finish

I love this easel. I paint fairly large (4 feet to 7 feetish) and this easel has not let me down. I hate the "key" easels where you can only adjust every two inches or so, this allows you to adjust to any height. It is very sturdy for having such a small base and looks really beautiful in my studio. It also folds up to half its size really easily which is great for moving (those giant easels are too tall and too heavy to move around much.) You also can't beat this price, it definitely is worth the $200 price mark.

I did have a small problem with my easel, the one knob was faulty. I emailed the company directly, asked for a new one and they sent it to me free the next week. They also included a free panel! Their great customer service makes me rate rate them even higher.

WOW, this is one sturdy easel!!! I was a little nervous ordering this easel because it did not look very sturdy, I was wrong! This easel is very well constructed and i have complete faith that it will hold all my art work! I am shocked at the quality of this easel for the price and it looks terrific in my studio! Very easy to move around and simple in design. The top and bottom mast glide easily for adjustment. I don't know why someone would ever want to put it away, but if you chose to do so, the top folds in half and the back leg folds up. This was a steal at 72.00 and free 2day shipping through Amazon Prime. I highly recommend this easel if you need to conserve space, or just do not want a big bulky easel sitting around. This easel will not tip over, if that is a concern. It stands very stable! It is made out of solid oak and I feel it will last for many years. Oh, I forgot to mention that this easel will accommodate a very small canvas to very large canvas. I am very pleased with this purchase.

This Item had a lot of great reviews which made the condition it arrived in even more disappointing. I purchased this as a birthday gift for my girlfriend in late November. When I bought it, it was on back order but it finally arrived just in time about a month later. As soon as I saw the packaging I new there were going to be issues. It arrived in a long box wrapped in large plastic bags. The bags were quite beat up and weren't big enough to cover the box by a long shot. They had put one on each end and taped them together. When I removed the packaging, the box inside was gouged and torn. One end had already been opened by someone (you could see where the tape and been cut) and was just left open. the other end was torn. The box itself had almost no padding to speak of. When I took the easel out I was immediately surprised by the poor craftsmanship of the easel. There were gouges and splinters in the wood. One edge was discolored by what appeared to be water damage. It wasn't stained so it was a much lighter color that in the picture on Amazon. All those were largely cosmetic though and not something that I would have been terribly upset over. What was a big issue was that the main support arm for the easel was split down the middle and the easel itself was not square. Even with the split, I was able to put the easel together for long enough to show my girlfriend I'd actually gotten her a gift before sending it back and the base of the easel rocked badly like a table with a leg that's too short and the mast stayed loose in the base no matter how tight the screws. This thing had great other reviews for the most part so I'm hoping the quality issues came out of them rushing holiday orders. I will say that it is an impressive looking easel and if it hadn't been for the stability and craftsmanship issues, my girlfriend probably would have had it forever.

Darice Black Metal Floor Easel

This strong easel was discovered by one of my college students. He popped it up in one of our field trips and it is amazing. It is very sturdy and stable and has some respectable heft to it. It is strong and won't blow over or knock over easy. Made of steel and metal. It has an adjustable pad or canvas holder and can adjust to vertical or flat angle and everything in between. It is lightweight and easy to carry once collapsed. It makes a nice studio easel too but for light work, the neck adjusts up to 30-32 inch tall or so. It probably won't be advisable for overly heavy, large, or oversized canvases. It has two hangers on each of the front legs to hang a pencil bucket or rinse bucket if needed. The telescopic legs retract inside and are a cinch to drop out and tighten down in seconds. If you are a tall person like my student (6 feet tall and over) or if you are short like me, it still works perfectly because the height of the legs and pad/canvas holder can be vertically adjusted.

I am recommending this to all my students for their painting and drawing work out in the field!

My art professor and a fellow student purchased this easel and loved it, so they suggested it to me after I told them I was having issues with the one I had bough earlier. I would definitely suggest this easel to anyone looking for a quality but cheap portable easel. It is tall enough, stable enough, and heavy enough to work well for out door drawing or painting. It's also just light enough to make it easy for travel. The last easel I bought turned out to be too short for me. Being slightly over 6 feet can make finding a good portable easel seemingly difficult. This easel however adjusts really well and can go quite high with very simple adjustments that don't require you to basically take the whole thing apart. I wish it came with a carrying case though or something to make it easier to move it from place to place. My only real complaint about the easel though is that the welding isn't that good on the bolts that allow you to screw the legs into place. The first time I used it the pressure of the screw against the leg to hold it snapped the bolt right off after a few times of locking and unlocking the legs so I could fold it up and move. This was easily fixed with some welding glue, but really shouldn't have been an issue in the first place.

However for the price it's a very minor issue that I think was probably an isolated incident. However to keep it from happening with the other legs and parts of the easel I used welding glue to reinforce them all, it was a real pain to not be able to use the easel for the rest of my trip at the zoo. (I am glad I'm writing this now though instead of back then, if I had written this review at the time I would have given it 1 star and been just ranting probably, it was rather upsetting at the time.)

I am very glad I bought this easel and only wish I had asked my teacher and classmates about portable easels the day I decided to look into getting one, would have saved me about $20. I still use this easel when I can and will sometimes bring it to class with me to avoid using some of the old, loose, and sometimes broken wooden easels. This is probably the single best piece of art equipment I've bought for a long time.

Art Advantage Wood Art Box Easel Paint Set

This was a wonderful purchase that has brought much joy to our pre-teen daughter. The wood is lovely; the case compact and the built-in easel is a godsend. The set overall is not overly sophisticated or simplistic. It makes a wonderful art gift for any enthusiast. I highly recommend it!

My daughter received several presents and she immediately opened this and started painting. It is well made and paints are nice quality. I wish there were a few more brushes and perhaps another canvas. Otherwise, it is a good product.

I bought this for my 9 year old as a Christmas gift, she loves art and would be so happy with her own easel and art supplies. I got it today and was so happy opened it up and it was not well made at all. One of the latches that hold the easel close was bent into the box so it would latch properly. Another one was compltely broken off. The drawer was unable to open or close unles you used great force. I didn't see this lasting very long. I am going to return it for a refund and try to find another easel kit for her.
