Mighty Bright Fold-n-Stow Book Holder

I love this product, it really works well for my huge law books, it's also good for the smaller but thick books. The legs adjust well for page flipping. If you're the end or beginning of the book,where you have a lot of pages on one side and very few on the other, (in a 700 page book this is a big weight issue), it still gets the job done.

HOWEVER,

I also ordered the easi-reader bookstand, about $1 more (doesn't ship to Canada so I had to order it from Independent living aids so shipping was expensive). I'd have to say that the Easi-reader, although it has a more simple look, it more solid than the mighty-bright. Mighty bright metal pieces are held together with plastic while the Easi-reader is held together with metal and its over structure (hard to tell from the Amazon picture) is more solid. My books don't move around whatsoever on the latter.

Another downside, for both products, they are not good for small paperbacks. But for students with large books, cookbooks, papers, pictures they work really well.

I bought this book holder after reading good reviews, but it is really not so good. Mighty Bright writes in the product description 'Variable slope Adjustments (it really adjusts)', but the fact is that it does not. It has one fixed slope. I sent a email to Mighty Bright, who is the seller and probably the manufacturer of this product to explain me how I can adjust the slope, if it really does, as he says. It has been several weeks by now, but I have not received any response. Another drawback is that the wires are soft and pliable and tend to bend with the weight of a hardcover high school textbook. It seems that soon it is going to be out of shape. Yes, one good thing is that it does fold, so it is easily portable.

I tried out a lot of bookholders before getting to this one and this is, by far, the best bookholder I've ever used. It's easy to move around and folds flat, so can be taken with you wherever you go. It holds both paperback and hardcover perfectly.

I'm a law student and need my book proped up so I can read and type at the same time. This was a life-saver! Held my paperback Black's Law Dictionary, as well as all the casebooks and hornbooks. And these are books of well over 1000 pages.

This is a very versatile book stand that is easy to carry around and easy to store. It is ideal for smaller books and for those readers who don't need variety of reading angles. However, it can accommodate larger books as long as you are a bit careful how you use it. In addition to books, it works really well with a variety of electronic book readers and the new generation of tablet computers. I've used it with my Kindle Wireless Reading Device (6" Display, Global Wireless, Latest Generation) and iPad. In fact, when I was looking for an inexpensive way of propping up my iPad so that it doesn't lay flat on the table I settled for this option and so far it is working perfectly for me. In fact, I am writing this review on iPad that is propped up with it.

The only problem that I have with it is the manufacturing quality. The first holder that I bought broke after a few months of use. I still went ahead and bought a new one because I feel that its many advantages far outweigh this shortcoming, and hopefully if I am a bit more careful with how I store it and handle it it may last longer this time around.

But I also play RPG games (like Dungeons and Dragons) where maps are drawn on 1" grid paper, for use with mineatures and tokens representing the players and the people, npcs, and creatures they encounter. The sheets are huge, sturdy enough for players to map as they go, and unlike the wipe-off vinyl mapping, they can be re-used and referred to in future games.

I should have paid attention to some of the other reviews. The backing is VERY weak so you cannot simply stand it on an easel. You need to have something that attaches it to the easel or it falls over. Paper quality is fine but the backing is useless. I would not purchase it again.

For the price you can't beat these turn buttons. They get the job done for sure, but I did notice that about 20% of them had some spotting that appeared to be light rust. It's not terrible though.

These turn buttons work well for the custom picture frames I have been making. I have had issues with some of the screws. The paint/black coating on the screws seems to be blocking the screwdriver from fitting in completely. Overall I think that the turn buttons work well and are reasonably priced.

The ridge aspect of turn button structure makes these little guys strong and well built. If you are looking for a simple and accurate installation of these guys on any frame I recommend a self centering drill bit that will help with pilot holes.

This is very good easel, easy to handle, easy to take outside and not an expensive one. The easel is very stable and not heavy at the same time, everything is adjustable (not only the height, but even the angle). It has a convenient area to put supplies. I am very satisfied with it and I am going to buy another one for my mother.

Yes, as someone has mentioned, it is not painted, but the quality of the wood is very good, so I don't think there is anything else needed to be done with this product.

Art Alternatives Wood Box Pencil Easel

I bought one of these a few years ago from a local Art Store. At First I bought it cause I liked the way it looked, but after using it I fount it to be an excellent item. The way it folds in to a stand to hold your pencils for easy access is just awesome. I would advise this to any one who wants to add both some style and functionality to their art kit.

The only problem with this amazing case is the lack of an ability to keep it together. It opens pretty freely. My personal solution to this is just to keep a rubber band around it to keep it closed. And when I'm using the case, the rubber band helps me elevate my pencils for even quicker access.

Over all this is a pretty sweet buy.

The idea is there but it needs a lot of work still. First off it doesn't keep close when there's pencil in them, make sure you have rubber band wrapped around it otherwise expect to play pick up stick with your pencils. Because of this, I only use it for holding my pencils up so I can get easy access to what I need but then it kept falling forward until i bend it all the way back and have it lean on some books. lol... This product is useless but it has potential if they can fix these issues. lol Oh yah, it does look very professional!

My favourite thing about this palette is the amount of wells and ample mixing areas without the palette being overly big. The material is sturdy and thick enough. I am impressed with how tight the lid shuts, not allowing liquid to escape during transport. I was able to pack it upright in my art bag while the wells were moist without any mishaps. My only complaint is I wish part of the mixing area was more segmented to hold large washes, because they tend to spread and dry out. Overall a good buy.

The easel is high end, and fabulous. I think the price is spectacular. It must be handled carefully, but it is a beautiful piece of artwork. Majestic Royal and Langnickel Long Handle Paint Brush Set, Filbert, 7-Piece

I own a large variety of brushes ranging from Kolinsky sables for oils and watercolors, the Bob Ross Collection, the Terry Harrison Collection, and many others. I have been searching for an oil/acrylic brush set with a medium stiffness for control, but soft enough for beautiful detail without lines and scratchiness. I first tried the Royal Majestic line in watercolor brushes when they were handmade to order. I still use those brushes on a regular basis. They have never lost their shape. They do not shed nor fray, and have excellently made ferrules and handles. These have turned out to be just as great as the watercolor brushes. I am delightfully pleased. The price is excellent as well! Where else can you find a long handled brush, sizes 4 24 for under $35. This is a pack of seven a great range of sizes. They fit everything that I needed. I was not disappointed at all. I was totally impressed! By the way, to keep them looking nice when using acrylics and oils, clean then with Murphy's wood oil soap and water then dry them with TLC.

Bought 3 different sizes of these filberts recently from another source and am very impressed with the quality and how well they handle. World of difference between these and brush sets found in most craft stores. These are rated student quality (as in serious art major in college), but compare favorably to the expensive professional artist quality brushes. Very good choice for the artist on a budget.

Winsor & Newton Winton Oil Color Easel Set

I'm being asked to rate this as a toy; not sure why. So as a toy I rated it 5 stars. Now for the real review: I thought the oil paint colors included would be the basic ones since they are not listed in the description. Upon receipt I found the three NOT included were white, black, and blue, three I absolutely require. So be aware of what you are receiving before ordering. The six colors included are: Cadmium Yellow Pale Hue, Cadmium Red Deep Hue, French Ultramarine (purple), Viridian Hue (light green), Yellow Ochre, and Burnt Umbre (brown). I've since ordered paints that included the primary colors everyone uses. The rest of the set is as expected--plastic palette, 3 canvas boards, wood easel, etc, as pictured. Good (almost) basic set for the price.

This set does not include everything you need to try oil painting as it may suggest. First, the color white is not included which means that you basically are only able to paint with super bright colors or colors mixed with black. You neither will be able to prepare the canvas as supposed to w/a white underlying paint. Second, it does not include cleaners for the brushes. You will not be able to get oilpaint out of brushes or even from your hand with soap; you will need turpentine. Third and last, the color from the brush shaft peeled off after the first 5 min. So, all in all not a complete set with not so good quality.

I love this easel. It is sturdy and can adjust up to 34". That's really great. I also love the fact that it can adjust on the top and bottom, leaving it pretty compact. It just hangs over the table for the bigger canvas.

The drawer is great! My brushes fit in it amazingly well. Even the longer ones. There's also 2 spots that will fit smaller things like pencils, erasers, sharpeners, etc.

This easel is so nice, its exactly what I wanted. Plenty of storage in the drawer for paints, brushes, etc. The angle of the board can be adjusted to nearly flat also. As an idea, I purchased an ordinary bread board that fit into the clamps and that is what I use to tape the art paper to on top of the easel, and it works very nicely. LOVE it, thanks!

I needed a table easel and there is a good bit to choose from....so, which to get? A.) THIS ONE. And I will explain why. A lot of table easels will extend up and accommodate a larger canvas, but this one also can be adjusted to "lower" the bottom portion as well as the upper portion. This creates a larger area to work. In doing so, it relocates the drawer that is typically in the front side and places it on the right side. In this drawer can be stored paints and brushes and it has two clasps to keep it closed securely while carrying it around...the part of the easel that holds the canvas condenses (if expanded above or below) and can be lowered and secured as well.....it essentially folds together securely and has a leather handle to carry it by. Studio Designs Deluxe Easel

Easy to assemble, weighted decently, and the knobs secure well. It easily adjusts to whatever painting size and holds the canvas well. Minor issue are the two units which hold the canvas, they have lips that cover the front of your canvas on top and bottom (these can be slightly annoying when you want to paint the bottom or top of the painting). Could be slightly heavier in the bottom braces to help further stabilize, but not totally necessary. Besides that, it's great!

Faber-Castell Newsprint Paper Roll 18" x 75'

I purchased this to replace a different roll of paper purchased on Amazon. I will probably be buying another roll of this paper when this roll is used up. It is pretty thick and perfect for a toddler to color on etc. It is not easily torn either, which is great, because my 2 yo daughter can rip paper like nobody's business.

Love it!

Paper has good weight to it, not bright white but off-white, something one might expect from recycled paper though this is not as dark.

Writing surface is great, perfect width and lots of length, holds the finger paint well and so on.
