Guerrilla Painter Backpacker 6 by 8 Covered Palette Tray

My Guerilla 6 x 8 came yesterday. The actual inside usable space is 4.5 x 6.5 inches, but still perfect for a take-along palette.

Pro: Glossy plastic -looks like it will be easy to clean. Small -easy to take with you. Very tight cover that will keep paints moist. Very lightweight -can hold with two fingers. Inexpensive.

Con: It is nearly impossible to open. You need to use a palette knife or some thin object to pry between the cover and base in order to open it. Perhaps this will get easier with use. On the other hand, the very tight closure is probably what keeps the paints nice and moist.

Overall, it looks like a fine addition to my painting arsenal.

Royal Artist Sketching Easel Art Set With Easy To Store Bag

I was pretty disappointed with this. I bought it for my 12 year old daughter who, luckily, is a sweet kid and I'm sure she'll enjoy this. But as an adult who can see quality and craftsmanship, both are totally lacking in this product. Everything is hastily put/glued together, things don't match up and there are places where this sloppy work is very noticeable.

The easel also arrived with the bottom wood panel cracked and warped, obviously it was water damaged at some time and no one bothered to do anything about it. It seems as though someone at the factory looked at it, shrugged and said "eh, close enough." before packing it off to the unsuspecting. We simply didn't have time to ship it back and ask for another one that would, hopefully, be in better condition so my husband broke out his carpentry skills and did his best to fix it himself.

I love the idea of a portable easel, but it would be much better to simply dish out the extra $30 or so to buy a decent one.

This easel is nicely made and well equipped. The finish looks good and the easel is sturdy. If there is one complaint, it would be that the latches are cheaply made, but it really doesn't affect the appearance or usability of the easel. The accessories are very nice and fit well in the drawer of the easel. I am overall very happy with the product. A great value for the price.

This is a good value on a bundled art kit. An all-in-one portable solution that would make for a good gift for a budding artist. I'm sure experienced authors would find flaws, but for a child, student or amateur, I think this is a good deal.

The case/easle is well made with real wood joinery, not some cheap nailed or stapled together affair. Case and contents together are a good value. HOWEVER, as some other reviewers have noted, the hardware on the case is flimsy. I bought replacement hardware for a few bucks and now it is a very good case. Even with the added expense and time of replacement hardware, I recommend it and am considering buying another similar product from the same company.

Guerrilla Painter Guerrilla No.17 Flex Easel

I want to paint while sitting down and this easel allows me to attach it to a tripod that can go as low as 17" up to 5 feet. I can sit comfortably in my cushy office chair and the tripod fits between my legs to some degree. I can then paint flat or tilt the easel using the tripod adjustable head.

American Easel 24 Inch Table Top Tripod-Walnut Stained Fir

I took a trip to the local art store, looking for an easel that would hold a large framed photo at an exhibition. I was distressed to find that I was looking at a price of $35 to $100. So I ordered this one from Amazon. It came disassembled, but it is a simple thing and was no trouble to put together. It is held together by a couple of wing nuts. It will accommodate a 19" frame nicely, though I'm not sure it would hold an item much bigger than that. The stability of this easel is entirely dependent on the tension of the wing nuts. There is nothing beside that preventing the rear leg from sliding backward and dumping the art on the table. I am a little bit concerned about that, but I plan to use it anyway. The expensive ones at the art store are definitely a lot nicer.

I do a lot of painting and needed an easel, but didn't want to spend a ton of money. It's just a hobby so I couldn't justify it. This one was perfect reasonably priced, versatile size. My daughter (5 yr old) uses it a lot it positions her project perfectly so that's one less mess I have to clean up :). Not only is it a great size, It folds up which makes storing it easy. I have a metal utility shelf in my craft room that has holes in the posts I screwed a little eye hook in the back of the easel (where it wouldn't interfere with the canvas while in use) and hang it off a s-hook in one of the holes in the shelf when we're not using it. Highly recommend!

Nice Easel built fairly well made in China. Everything went together as it should but was slightly dissappointed it wasn't beefier. All in all good item for the $$$.

It is perfect. Just what I was looking for. The only thing that I was sad about was that the dry erase board is really hard to wash. BUT I found that Crayola markers can be used and wash off so easy, so we stopped using dry erase markers. The chalk board doesn't show the chalk very well but it works just fine and my son has loved it!

I got this because I wanted to start painting and didn't feel like spending a lot of money on fancy tools I didn't know how to use. It comes with a 10 page canvas which was surprisingly AMAZING to paint on. The brushes however, are not that great and are difficult to use because of how hard some of them are. One thing to keep in mind though if you're going to purchase this: make sure you get special oil to clean your brushes with. Water won't do and the paint will remain on your brushes. Overall good product especially for the price.

Mine arrived with frazzled brushes, and were unusable, a shame as the rest of the set was just OK. Found cheaper sets at Walmart.

Art Advantage 18-Inch by 18-Inch Artist Sketch Board

I originally received this as a gift. It worked out so well I bought another. At first I needed something hard for drawing outside on, or downstairs by the tV, even in the play room when doing homework with the kids (works great as a "chalk/marker board" for teaching), and just about anywhere other than my art desk. (Basically I use it as a portable desk/black board). I usually work on 11X14 sheets so a regular clipboard wasn't going to work. This is for all intents and purposes is a very large clipboard. However, at 18X18 this worked out great and allowed me plenty of space to work on my larger pictures (12X16 and 12X18). If you need a smaller version then check out Art Advantage 13-Inch by 17-Inch Artist Sketch Board. However, if you are in need of an even larger one then look at Art Advantage 23-Inch by 26-Inch Artist Sketch Board or Art Advantage 26-Inch by 38-Inch Artist Sketch Board.

Not only do I use it for drawing on, but I found that it works great for storing my in-progress pictures, which I conveniently secure with the clip and detachable red band. The red band is essentially a large/thick rubber band. It is not attached and is re-moveable and adjustable. You can use it to strap down larger images or position it closer to the top clip for smaller pictures. You can also remove the band entirely if you need to. The handle on the side is good for transporting. I usually clip and band my pictures/papers then use the handle to travel.

I have also used the sketch board to secure watercolor papers and to smooth out wrinkled or kinked papers/mats/etc. For watercolor papers, you can tape your paper down and/or use the clip and red band to secure your paper flat. I purchased this art sketch board to replace one that I've had forever that my son broke. I assumed this one would be of similar quality, but it was not. It definitly fulfills its purpose, but the pressed wood that the board is made of is not very high quality. I've only had it for about a month and the corners are already beginning to crumble. I don't think it will hold together well for the long-term. I am disappointed. The price is good, but I think you get what you pay for.

This is a good board, smooth and clean. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the clips were sort of annoying to use, by the end of four months I was looking enviously at people who bought the boards with the other style clips that you can leave open and then press close. The clips work fine don't get me wrong, but I damaged a few sheets of paper not being careful with the clips.

I bought these hoping they would work as an inexpensive alternative to whiteboards on a permanent basis. And they do! I have four of them up in my apartment, they've been up for weeks, and they work extremely well! I'm sitting here with my last remaining scraps of an old Avery brand dry erase sheet product I purchased years ago and this product that I ordered recently. One expo marker. I can easily erase the marker from the ancient Avery sheet, hardly any comes off of the new sheet. I've tried expo cleaner, alcohol, acetone, vinegar, windex, 409, water and lots of elbow grease. What good is a dry erase surface that doesn't erase?

This is a very good quality mini easel. The wood is hard so it won't dent as easy, it has a nice finish, it has screws instead of air-gunned nails, and the back support/stand is firm and tight, so it's not limp.

I purchased these to hold 2 small frames with my daughters hand print and foot print. They serve their purpose. They are just as they are represnted to be. My only complaint is there is nothing to stop the supporting leg from sliding too far out...when ever I bump them while dusting the back leg will fly out and the frames fall flat. This isn't a big deal in the way I'm using them because the frames don't have glass....but if you were to put something delicate on these easels just be careful not to let it fall.

I wanted to use this easel to hold a large cardboard picture. The easel was not able to support this light weight picture. The legs which are not tethered to each other, slide independently on all floors except carpet. It was hard to keep the picture level. The top holder is very flimsy and does not do a good job of holding the item either. I returned the easel but the company charged me 15% restocking fee on this unacceptable piece of flimsy item. If you want to hold anything like what is shown in the product picture, I would not suggest this product. You will find yourself frustrated by it.

It's a bit clumsy, but gets the job done. I can't get easel back into its clever little carrying bag unless I first remove little brackets. Too much trouble to reassemble those each use (weekly), so I just collapse and put in my bin.

you get what you pay for. the palette is small and very inferior thin plywood. the brushes have the mange and worse. they actually disintegrate as you try to fluff the so called bristles. the hairs fall out and i haven't even dared use them with paint yet.

I guess thats what I get for being cheap. I get poor quality brushes. These are horrible horrible horrible. The bristles are way stiff...VERY cheaply made. Painting with them is like painting with a bunch of wood splints. Was going to throw them out at the first touch to the paper but my little sister wanted them so I gave them to her instead, but I highly doubt even she will want to use them.

I think this is a good deal and if you paint like me, you like lots of brushes of all price values, shapes and sizes available when you paint. I use these cheaper brushes to apply mask when I'm doing watercolor and for any other artsie task when I'm painting that might destroy a good brush. I feel at these cheaper prices, I can save my good brushes and use one of these and if it gets destroyed, it's cheap enough to be disposable!

I don't use the palette as a palette, I intend to paint a picture on it. So between the cost of the brushes and the palette, if you take them individually, they are very reasonably priced!!

But just a word of warning...you do get what you pay for and anyone expecting high quality brushes and a perfect palette at this price is dreaming! But they do serve a purpose!

Connoisseur Gold Nylon Short Handle Brush Set, 15-Piece

I did a lot of searching for an affordable yet quality set of brushes, these proved to be just what I was looking for, great quality brush set, and a large variety of sizes and shapes, I am just starting to attempt oil painting and so far they have been amazing in holding shape even when I get rough.

I have a pretty good sized paintbrush collection going at this point and these recent additions are among the cheapest I've bought but ironically, they're towards the top as far as quality. I tend to be a little aggressive with brushes but that said, I can definitely say that they retain shape well, they don't shed at all, they're incredibly sturdy, the bristles are very flexible and smooth, and never coarse or frayed. There's a multitude of shapes/sizes in this set and I think no matter what 'level' of a painter you are and no matter which type of painting it is you do, you'll find some brushes in here you'll really, really like.

I'm going to buy backups! :)

I never had brushes this nice. In the picture the handles look black, but the ones I got were like this marble emerald green and they are just lovely. They are tough, in the perfect shapes and lengths. This was the only affordable set I could find, that had a fan brush in it and an angle brush. For a minute I thought a brush was gone, but it had just fallen out. Awful packaging, great product. It's a set any artist should have. It's great as back up brushes too. They are very quality brushes and I would recommend them to anyone.

Artists Easel Holds Large Canvases But Folds Up without Removing Any Components

I bought this for my husband, who is an artist. He loves it.

He paints on large canvases and this is very sturdy and well-built. Also, it was relatively easy to put together. One slight issue is that the directions were not well-written at all and we just figured out how to do it by looking at it and some experimentation.

However, the two "arms" that are supposed to extend so you can rest a pallate on them were useless. They need to be shorter in order to connect properly to the stand and be usable. Either they need to be cut/shortened, or not used at all. And, as afore-mentioned, the directions were useless. Sigh.

Overall, great stand except for the pallate holder. But that's not really necessary, so it's still a good stand.

Lastly, you really can't beat the price which is about half of any other decent easel out there.

Purchased for my fiance as a gift and he calls it perfection. He's using it as I write this. We both definitely recommend this product! Enjoy!

Darice 18-Inch-by-24-Inch Stretched Canvas, 2-Pack

I'm no professional, just an average guy with minimal talent who enjoys painting. Even I'm appalled by the quality of this canvas. It's not stretched well, the fabric certainly isn't taught and will probably droop with anything but thin paint. Worse, the canvas is dimpled in a few places on both of the canvases. They were well packaged so I think this is an issue of quality rather than shipping damage. I'd send them back but it would cost more in shipping than the purchase price.

I can't discourage you enough from buying these canvases. I went to an art supply chain and grabbed the same size for about 30% more but the quality was 500% better.

The canvas showed up quickly and in good order. The individually wrapped canvases helped me preserve one from dust and debris while I was working on the other. Comes with wood bits to help with the final stretching if need be for framing.
