American Easel Oak Colossal A Frame Easel-Golden Finish
This is a great easel, it comes totally assembled, all you have to do is fold it out and put the canvas holding parts on. Note that in order to put a 50 inch canvas on the easel you will have to have the bottom holder just a few inched off the ground so you will have to get down low to paint the bottom of the canvas. Fine for me, as the easel is sturdy and well priced for the solid craftsmanship. I'm going to paint the easel black so it matches the rest of my furniture and serves as a decorative corner piece when I'm not using it. It flattens for storage but it's still pretty darn tall so I think it's easier to keep it in the dining room corner with a finished painting on it.

If you are drawing your maps in permanent marker like I do, you will only get 25 pages, not 50. This is because the count of 50 pages per pad assumes using front and back of each page. With permanent marker, this is not possible.

I'm a professional artist and for whatever reason I prefer these light weight a-frame easels. I always feel crowded by larger bulkier easels. This easel came in perfect condition, no dents or scratches. There is no warping of the wood like there sometimes is with cheaper easels. Because there is no warping all parts are nice and tight like a new easel should be and move perfectly. A little bit of old english wood oil in some areas will allow easier adjustments just don't put wood oil over the wood the gripper presses against. The bottom gripper claps very tight with only a little bit of turning pressure. This easel can hold up heavier supports. You can hold small and large supports easily. Because I have a limited ceiling height I like the fact that you can adjust the lower holder independently from the mast so I can raise the lower holder up to my chest without running out of ceiling space.The easel was very easy to put together, took me maybe 15 minutes. You will need a philips head screw driver or an electric one. They give you twelve self-drilling screws so using a regular hand held screw driver might be too difficult for some to drive the screws into the wood by hand. But the easel is simply constructed and the directions are simple and clear.
Most importantly for me they shipped to Hawaii for under 10 dollars a huge saving for me. Everywhere else for similar easels in size and weight wanted to charge about $150 in shipping. Where I live there is only one small art store that sells easels but all the employees in there act like your bothering them when you go in there to buy something, so I won't bother them. Thanks to this company for sending me this easel promptly, in good condition and at a reasonable shipping cost.

I bought this as a gift. I gave it to them and the easel is broke where it folds back up. Its nice to get everything for starting out, but its pretty cheap. Also, there is a hole in the canvas but that was more than likely shipping. The "NAVAJO" Easel #885301
The Easle is fine. It is easy to assemble and works find. The problem we ran into was the chain on the easle is attached to a hook that screws in the back piece of wood. That hook is not strong enough to screw in the wood without breaking. We used an alternate chain and screw but otherwise it has been a good product.
Advanced Series En Plein Air Pro Watercolor Package
I have been using En Plein Air Pro Watercolor Easel for half a year now. I still love it almost as much as I did on the day it arrived but I have a bit more perspective on its advantages, disadvantages and uses. So here we go:Pros:
-Very lightweight (the easel proper, not counting tripod and shelf, is 1lb. 5oz)
-Extremely quick and easy to set up
-Fits onto any tripod via a standard tripod mount
-Thanks to that, you can manipulate the angle of the board any way you like
-You can buy the whole package with the easel, tripod, palette shelf, and carrying bag, or pick and choose among any of these. Since I already had a decent tripod (Slik Heavy-Duty Tripod with 3-Way Fluid-Effect Head and Built-In Bubble Level), I bought the easel attachment and the shelf.
-Fits into most backpacks, which means that your entire plein air setup can be carried in one backpack (the tripod can either go inside the backpack or be attached with straps outside).
-Both the easel and the shelf have holes for holding your brushes
-Despite being so thin and lightweight, the easel is actually relatively sturdy. It is made out of ABS plastic, which you can bend a little but so far, it has stayed flat and straight.
-Has a lip on the bottom, so you can just prop up a sketchbook or sheet of paper against it without attaching it to the board
-Has a hook for hanging a water container nice idea, but this is also going to the "cons" section below
-Compared to the heavy french easels with all of their paraphernalia, En Plein Air Pro just looks cool. Anytime I paint outside with some new people, somebody asks me about the easel.
Cons:
-The above mentioned hook for the water container is on the bottom right, which makes the easel board bend and lean that way whenever a normal size water bucket (like the popular collapsible water jar) is hanging from it. I usually just put the water container in the middle of my John Pike Watercolor Palette which sits on the shelf. It looks like the Original Series easel has the hook in the middle. I'm guessing, the hanging water container was interfering with the user's ability to reach into the back of the shelf/palette, so they moved the hook to the side. The new Advanced Series Plein Air Pro palette shelf lets you put the water under the shelf, so you don't have to worry about those hooks at all.
-Since this is a portable easel, you should probably expect to be limited in your choice of painting surface sizes. In the case of this easel, anything taller than 16-17 inches feels too big. It is definitely awkward to work on something like a vertical 16×20 piece.
-Because of the angle of the tripod legs, the shelf is tilted back, towards the center of the tripod, when all three legs are extended the same amount. To correct that, I make the rear leg longer, so that the whole tripod is leaning forward. This makes the shelf level but at the expense of shifting the tripod balance. I have had it topple over at the slightest touch of my 2-year-old. (Tip. Keep those toddlers away from your easels...especially if there is something on the easels that you care about). It looks like the Advanced Series palette shelf also fixes the tilting issue by introducing adjustable tabs.
-Umbrellas for plein air are not likely to work with this kind of setup. It would just be too heavy and throw the balance to the wind. But then, I don't even own an umbrella.
As with most portable setups, you have to watch out for that wind I just mentioned and weigh the tripod down. You also need to tighten the tripod mount screw quite well before attaching the easel to the tripod otherwise, the board develops the tendency to slowly but surely rotate counterclockwise.
Because of the portability and flexibility, I use En Plein Air Pro more than my studio easel. I take it outside, I bring it to my classes, and I paint on it at home. If I didn't already have a large palette, I would likely get the Advanced palette shelf.

This set is nice but in my opinion not worth the price, the paints are good but the box is pretty flimsy and the brushes are not very good. when i got it one of the oil paints had been punctured and paint got on the inside of the box and on some of the other paints and the pallet, it sounds like a lot but it wasn't really THAT much paint, just enough to be annoying and dissapointing, especially because the set was a christmas gift for my wife. I must say though that besides all that she does have a lot of fun with this and has painted many cute pictures to hang in our new babies room. Just received this item and was very excited about it. When I took it out of the package, the bottom of the wooden box fell off and the 2 drawer fronts! Very shoddy construction. Rubber foot was missing off bottom of the box. Pastels were floating around inside. Not sure if the art supplies are worth anything, I couldn't get past how awful the box was. Art Alternatives Paint Tray Palette, 10 Wells with Thumb Hole
Note that I have given this smallish plastic palette five stars. I really have mixed emotions about this. Let me explain.First, this is indeed a very functional palette. I use is strictly for water colors but it could well be used for acrylics or any other water based paint. With the ten wells you have plenty of places to mix. The palette is extremely easy to wash and there is no stain carry-over that you so often find in this sort of product. It is light which makes it easy on the hand and is not overly burdensome when you pack it with your other gear. I like the fact as it is white as it allows me to see my colors better.
On the other hand, this palette is most certainly made for smaller hands. While my hands are not overly large, they are never-the -less not what you would call petite either. This, for me, is a bit of a problem. I use it of course, but to be frank it is a pretty tight fit. Of course I usually work setting down and normally have the thing placed on a table or work bench close by which is not a problem when used like this. These would be ideal for those with small hands and of course children.
There is also the cost consideration. When I first saw these on this site they were over six dollars apiece. Wow! If you did not have Amazon Prime or some such cost savings program, this was a bit steep. I see now that they are selling for $3.75. This is better. I paid $3.00 apiece for them at a local art supply store plus tax...it sort of all equaled out. If you have Amazon Prime or get a supersaver deal, then the price here is not all that bad. If you must pay shipping (I have no idea what that is) then you probably should check around a bit.
Functionally this is a nice item. Cost effectiveness here is a bit problematic. A few years ago I would not have been overly concerned with a couple of dollars here and there but to be honest, times are hard and ever dollar you save counts; at least it does for me. I suppose it all depend upon the availability of these in your neck of the woods and what your local dealer is asking.
My five star rating is more for the functionality of this item than anything else. I cannot be critical because of the size of my hands. (Hey, I held it before I bought it so I knew what I was getting. They potential buyer though on-line needs to be aware of this.

This is a very nice little and very inexpensive palette. I bought ten of these at a local art shop and paid about on dollar more per palette than here.I give private art lessons, for the most part to children and young adults. These are an ideal size and I use them for my water color classes and acrylic. This smaller size is ideal for smaller hands. I have small hands myself so it works out great for me to.
These are extremely easy to clean. I make the kids clean up their own mess after we work and they have a much easier time cleaning these than the plates. Bowls and such I used before.
This was a good investment. I highly recommend this product.

If you want a nice, little palette for watercolor sketches or a quick, three-tone painting or something similar, this should do the trick. Other than that, you're going to need a much bigger palette. I usually use a palette with 20 wells and a large mixing space in the middle. I thought I might be able to use this one for smaller projects, but I guess I just use too much paint for this little guy.If you want a palette that fulfills all your painting needs, don't go for this one.

Backpack for Full French Box Easels
I bought this for the Jack Richeson Academy Weston Full French Easel. While it does fit, it's a very tight squeeze to zip it all in properly at the top the legs of the easel just seem a tad long for this particular bag. Some of the sewing/zipper/seam construction internally appears cheap. That said, it will be serviceable, the pockets will be handy. I primary bought it to take it through security at the airport or it I take the train to a nearby park to draw, I think it will come in handy.

This was a gift for a child with a small room. This is an incredibly sturdy easel, beautifully designed with a bar on the back for rolled paper (not included). The choice was made because this easel does not have a large footprint but is very sturdy. It can be closed to lean against the wall (still attractive) and can even be used while leaning. Note that it comes assembled but for the flat pieces, in very large box.The white board/chalk board is a reversible board; you just slide it out and flip it. My d-in-law was delighted because she hates the mess and dust chalk makes on hardwood floors out of sight it isn't an issue. The puppet facade is cardboard, which again slides, giving you two different scenes for your child to color and use. Or draw your own.
I would not hesitate to buy this again, despite the price. I also love that it holds Ikea paper rolls, so much cheaper than any available that I've seen. This easel will stand for generations. Everyone's happy

I ordered this easel 3 times. The first 2 times the orange fiberboard piece that holds the legs in place came broken (Thanks, Amazon for easy quick returns). The third time, I was so excited to see all the pieces intact. It's so cute and easy to set up. I turned my back to find the paper roll and CRASH! The product clings to the wall very well. However, it does not erase easily at all. You have to practically scrape the ink off to get it off. So, I would not buy this again if I were looking for a dry-erase product.

This sketch board is made of pressed wood particles and had a large label stuck to the bottom corner. When I removed it the fibers of the board lifted and that corner became textured. I'm concerned that the rest of the board will easily become textured over time and will be unuseable. The size is nice and I like the handle on the side. Wish it was made of something more smooth.
